About the Artist

Michael DeVore (b. 1982) grew up in Oklahoma City, and even from an early age he showed a clear interest and ability in drawing and painting. He left his hometown to study art at Pepperdine University in California. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, Michael went on to train at The Florence Academy of Art, both in Italy and Sweden, where he improved his technical skills and met his wife and fellow artist Cecilia Thorell DeVore. They lived and worked in Colorado for several years before moving to Sweden, where they now live with their two daughters.

Michael is the office manager and workshop director for The Florence Academy of Art in Mölndal, Sweden, where he teaches, organises courses, and handles day-to-day operations.

Michael’s artwork has been exhibited internationally in various galleries and museums and sits in private collections all over the world. His work has garnered several awards and has been featured in catalogues, magazines, and other publications over the years.
